Groupon, the first leading deal based website was launched in 2008. Time when facebook as social network, was year ahead in the market of web. But no doubt that deals domain has captured the mind of entrepreneurs and investors to do real business.

Google famously tried to buy Groupon for $6 billion just a few months ago in order to bolster its local advertising business. Groupon rejected the offer though and is instead preparing for a $15 billion IPO.
